A variegated and compact dove tree. Leaves emerge with a wide yellow edge around a dark green center. Variegation fades in the summer. In fall the leaves turn purple. Large white bracts surround the flowers and give this tree its common name. JCRA director Mark W. says he's been growing this selection in his garden for several years and is having success planting it in rich, well-drained soil in mostly full sun. Plant high like a rhododendron to help avoid root rot.
