Alstroemeria 'Phoenix' is a superb variegated foliaged selection of princess lily that forms 32" tall stalks, topped, starting for us in late May (NC) with clusters of 8-10 upright held, carmine red flowers, each highlighted with a flecked yellow blotch above the throat. The stunning green foliage (evergreen in mild winters) is prominently edged with a wide white border. Alstroemeria 'Phoenix' is a tight clump forming plant compared to the variegated Alstroemeria psittacina 'Variegata'. Our plants have been in the garden since 2011, and have endured low temperatures of 7 degrees F. so far with no problem.
