A founding member of MarinMOCA, Beryl Miller is a mixed-media artist and painter. With the Charcoal Series and the Figments Series, Miller began by creating lines on raw canvas, some loose and gentle, some strong and forceful. She then added layers of architectural-like graphite marks and color to create dynamic mosaic patterns. While largely abstract, works like Figment #2 (2021) also contain references to architecture. Each painting in the series exhibits different aesthetic influences, from Asian prints to Art Deco and industrial architecture.

Miller lives in Novato, where she has had a studio at the Novato Arts Center for over twenty years. She creates her mixed-media canvas and panel paintings using acrylic paint, charcoal, and graphite. Miller has taken some classes but is largely self-taught. She has won recognition for her work by exhibiting in competitions. She also shows at the Robert Allen Gallery, Sausalito. When she is not working in her studio, Miller supports fellow artists at the Novato Arts Center and MarinMOCA.
