This hat was made on O'ahu with lauhala from the Kona side of Hawai'i Island.

About the Artist:
Pamela Lipscomb wove this hat using the starting method that she learned from Aunty Betsy Astronomo at the 2002 ʻAha Pūhala o Puna conference in Hilo. Unlike most other topless hats, there is string inserted into the top edge so that there is a closer fit and more strength and stability.
