The Path Forward

One of the nation’s treasures, The Historic Houston Light Guard Armory, has faced many years of neglect which has caused the building to deteriorate. In its 94-year history, it has also been struck by many hurricanes, tropical storms, and vandalism.

Since the Center of African American Military History, dba BSNM, purchased the building, we have made it our mission to renovate, restore, preserve and revitalize this space to its natural condition with a modern touch.

Join us in our current campaign to totally restore and preserve the armory, hire more professional museum staff, retire debt of the armory, and establish an endowment to keep the armory looking good for generations to come!
