Hello Wines Families,
Typically during this time of year we are preparing for our end-of-year Country Fair and Raffle and are celebrating the success of our annual offsite auction. Unfortunately, for the second year in a row we have been unable to host either one of these in-person fundraising events.
That said, this year offers more hope and optimism than last year at this time provided us. We have our kids back in school part time, vaccines are being widely rolled out across an increasing number of age groups, and we are looking forward to a full-time in person return to school in the fall.
In the spirit of being flexible and finding new ways to do things we previously did face-to-face, we are excited to be able to offer this year's Wines Auction through a fully virtual online bidding format. Last year's Covid shutdown happened just a couple of weeks before our auction was set to take place and we still have all of the items that had been donated for that event. Our auction volunteers have been hard at work contacting local businesses to ask about extending previous expiration dates (with the understanding that some businesses are unfortunately no longer able to participate), incorporating raffle items that had been collected last year ahead of the raffle, and ensuring tickets and passes to live events and venues are still valid.
Feel free to peruse this auction site at your leisure and click the button that says "details" for more information about any of the auction items that have piqued your interest. You may place a bid online at any time between when the auction goes live (9:00 a.m., Monday, May 17) and when the auction closes at 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 27. You can even set up alerts to be notified if someone outbids you -- and then bid again!
Although we do not yet know what our fundraising opportunities will look like for the 2021-2022 school year, we do know that our kids will, once again, be filling Wines during the week with learning and laughter and will be building and strengthening their sense of community. The Wines PTO will continue to enhance and support that endeavor and your financial support will make that possible.
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated an item to help make this auction a success and to everyone who is able to participate in this fundraiser. We are grateful to all of you!
One of our auction's biggest hits - the wine pull - is back this year with a slight twist to how it works.
Last year, a number of Wines families generously donated bottles of wine to be used in our wine pull. Every bottle that was donated retails for a minimum of $25. The bottles have been randomly numbered from #1 - #30. If you'd like a bottle of wine, choose a number on the auction page (e.g., Wine Pull #14). You will win that bottle, guaranteed. No one can outbid you on the wine pull so if you want to be sure you win something at the auction, the Wine Pull is the thing for you. At a minimum, you'll be purchasing a bottle equivalent to what you spent, but there's also a chance you will be getting a bottle of wine valued at $50 or more! Take a chance and see what your luck brings you. Included in the wine pull are reds, whites, rosés, and even a few bottles of sparkling.
