If you live in the Western New York or Chicago area, we will try to deliver the art to your home instead of shipping within a few days after the auction closing. Shipping will be a separate charge on your credit card and processed as a second transaction.
To date, we have over 40 participating artists who have committed to creating and donating an artwork to our auction and our line-up continues to grow! For SOS II, the Call for Work had an expanded scope beyond just containing the sunflower. Artists have been invited to submit art of all genre/media/content/dimensions. Additionally, we will have a separate category of authentic Ukrainian artifacts to bid on including pysanky (Ukrainian Easter eggs), gerdany (beaded work) embroidery, woodwork and more!
While the sunflower has long been Ukraine’s national flower, since the start of the war, it has become a symbol of solidarity, resilience, and resistance. As in our first auction, artists may play with and explore the sunflower as their subject matter and its layered symbolism but is not a prerequisite for participation.
100% of the proceeds will be donated to The Humanitarian and Self Defense Funds of the Ukrainian American Freedom Foundation (UAFF). Funds raised will go towards the procurement of generators, portable stoves, tourniquets, volunteer transport vehicles, and Motorola radios.
At our first Sunflowers of Solidarity Benefit Art Auction, over 90 artists donated over 100 artworks to raise $36,00 towards the manufacturing of Individual First Aid Kits which cost $100 each. The contents of this IFAK (Individual First Aid Kit) are the difference between life and death for our Ukrainian soldiers fighting to protect their country, families and freedom. We were able to support the manufacturing of 360 of these kits.
