How to Engage in the 2021 Toasting Hope Tasting Event!


THE FIRST STEP IS TO REGISTER - As a Virtual Participant, you will need to register first before you are able to bid on Silent Auction items and to participate in our Drawing. To REGISTER, CLICK HERE.  (Please note that in order to register, you must put a credit card on file. The card you choose can be used to purchase drawing tickets and bid on auction items.)


Once you register, you can purchase entries for our Drawing and then also bid on our Silent Auction packages when they go live on September 1st! Once your registration is complete, you will receive a notification electronically that prompts you to sign in, where you can then purchase as many Drawing entries as you like for a chance to win an amazing package valued at $250 or more! 


DRAWING - Each entry is $26. Why 26? Because 1 in 26 people will develop epilepsy at some point in their lifetime. By purchasing your Drawing Entry, you are  helping the Foundation's mission as we serve the 1 in 26 throughout Michigan. To purchase your Drawing entry, simply click here to REGISTER. Once your registration is complete, you will receive a notification electronically that prompts you to sign in, where you can then purchase as many drawing entries as you like for a chance to win an amazing package valued at $250 or more! 

We'll pull one lucky winner for each Drawing package during our LIVE Virtual Toasting Hope Event on September 23rd, which will be broadcast live on our Facebook and YouTube Live pages. The SURPRISE is, you don't know if or which package you will win until the night of the event! The more entries you have, the better your chances - you could even win more than one package!




BID ON OUR AMAZING SILENT AUCTION PACKAGES - Participate in the Silent Auction from the comfort of your own home! Once you REGISTER, you'll have the opportunity to see all of the amazing packages, place bids, get notifications when you've been outbid, and so much more starting on September 1st! Join in the fun and interactive experience, all while raising money for a great cause! The Silent Auction will close at 7:00pm on September 23rd, and all winners will be notified electronically.

Auction Rules

  1. By bidding in the auction, each bidder agrees to these auction rules. All sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds unless otherwise noted.  All items are “as is.” The Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan has attempted to describe the catalog items correctly, but neither warrants nor represents and in no event shall be responsible for the correctness of descriptions, genuineness, authorship, provenance or condition of the items. No statement made in this catalog or elsewhere shall be deemed such a warranty, representation, or assumption of liability.
  2. The value listed is an estimate of fair market value. Items have not been appraised unless so noted. The amount you pay above this fair market value estimate is normally tax deductible as a charitable contribution. Please consult your tax advisor to clarify amount of deduction.
  3. Before the auction opens on September 1st, the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan reserves the right to add or withdraw items, without notice, to or from the auction.
  4. Each person bidding assumes all risks and hazards related to the auction and items obtained during the auction. Each bidder agrees to hold harmless from any liability arising indirectly from the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan, their board, employees, the event organizers, and/or sponsors connected with the auction.
  5. To make a bid for an auction item, find the item on your smartphone, computer, or other internet device; click on the item name; and then scroll down to the bid button. This will let you know the next minimum bid. You can choose to bid this amount by clicking the bid button and confirm your bid. You will receive notification in email and text form if you get outbid. This will include the link for that item to place another bid. 
  6. Do not make ANY bids that you are not willing to purchase the item for that price. 
  7. Once the auction is declared closed, the last bid made shall constitute the winning bid and will be so indicated. The Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan will mediate any disputes among bidders and that determination shall be final.
  8. The Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan provides no guarantees, warranties or servicing of auction items and is not liable for any personal injury or damage to property that may result from the use of the item or service sold.
  9. Payment for items purchased will be charged to the winning bidder's card on file, and they will receive a tax receipt by email.
  10. Following payments, you must contact the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan to coordinate a pick-up time.
  11. Any item left unclaimed, without prior arrangements, will be sold and proceeds will go to the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan.
