Frontier Ferals TNVR the Wild West - Wild Blue Cats will be expanding our Frontier Ferals team this year to aid more communities than years past. We will be working with many other organizations throughout Colorado to Trap Neuter/Spay Vaccinate and Return kitties to their colonies. Wild Blue will also intake many pregnant feral mamas to let them have access to a safe enclosure to have their babies. As the babies are weaned they will go to loving foster homes to be socialized and eventually end up in their furever homes. Supporters can donate to particular needs for our Frontier Ferals program.
If you registered as a bidder in any of our previous fundraisers your bidder number is still active. If you would like to use a new email we can send you a link to change the information on file. If you are a brand new participant, you will receive an email and text message with the bidding link and your bidder number.
As always, your support is the only way we can continue to SAVE PRECIOUS LIVES!
Trapping in Colorado - TNVR is a process. Here are some photos from some of our recent projects.
The Story of Kaylene's Kradle - Our Feral Mama Catios
Kaylene’s Kradle originally began in the catio within the confines of Maya’s Village. Our director, Lauri Cross, realized that many feral mamas were in desperate need of a safe place to deliver and raise their kittens. She also felt that, given the proper socialization, the kittens could thrive and become happy, adoptable, lifelong companions.
We started with a crew of three people caring for a mama and her babies. More mamas and babies came, and we quickly realized that we needed more space. In 2020, we moved into our current location and increased our crew by one. As more catios were built and more mamas and kittens arrived, we continued to add more volunteers to provide twice daily care for our precious charges.
Catio One was named Yarn’s Yurt after a kitten from our first litter born in the new location of Kaylene’s Kradle. Yarn and her sisters were born to Noughty Yasmin, a tortie mama that had been anesthetized and vaccinated before anyone realized that she was pregnant. When this happens, the kittens can be born with Cerebral Hyperplasia, or CH. CH can cause an array of motor or physical difficulties from very mild motor control issues (wobbly kitty) to severe heart, vision or hearing deficits.
Yarn and two of her sisters developed cardiac issues, Yarn’s being the worst of the three. One of our initial Kaylene’s Kradle volunteers, Marni, adopted Yarn and one of her sisters, now named Chloe. Sadly, sweet Yarn passed away from her condition at eleven months of age. Chloe, thankfully, continues to thrive.
We have evolved to a team of over 50 volunteers who care for the kitties twice a day - rain, shine, wind, heat, snow or bitter cold. Over the years, we have learned so much and tried many different things to ensure our residents had the best chances possible. We learned how to identify and care for Panleukopenia kittens, ringworm, upper respiratory infections (URIs), conjunctivitis (eye infection), giardia, coccidia, CH, and other conditions. We’ve had amputee kittens, sweet kittens, traumatized kitties, and spicy kitties. We’ve learned how to handle super spicy mamas, escapee kitties, sick kitties. Many of us have learned to provide medical care including giving fluids, vaccinations and lots of medications. We have witnessed and assisted in births and deaths. We’ve watched mamas and babies blossom into beautiful creatures that have since gone on to be cherished family members, some of which by our very own KK volunteers. The mission of Kaylene’s Kradle is not for everyone, but for those of us that do it, it truly is a labor of love.
As you peruse the needs of our Frontier Ferals program - remember that Wild Blue Cats cannot be as effective as we want to be without your help and support. With our mission to Save Precious Lives we have a big task in front of us every day. Our supporters are extraordinarily important and your generosity makes all the difference!

We also conduct Trap, Neuter, and Release (TNR) ventures outside city limits, while supporting TNR efforts inside city limits to the best of our capacity. 100% of the cats we help are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and, when not feral, micro-chipped.
Wild Blue Cats! is a no-kill rescue as well as a network partner of Best Friends Animal Society Best Friends and Wild Blue are committed to the goal of #NoKill2025. No-Kill 2025 means that every shelter in our country is getting the community support it needs to save every dog and cat who can be saved. When a shelter is saving at least 90% of the dogs and cats entering, that shelter is designated as No-Kill. Animal shelters, rescues, lifesaving groups, and individual community members working together to take collective responsibility for at-risk pets right where they live.
Wild Blue takes the goal of No-Kill 2025 to heart as demonstrated by our lifesaving efforts in Colorado and surrounding states. As of March 21, 2024, Wild Blue Cats! has saved or impacted the precious lives of over 10,500 cats and kittens.
