Our Missions

Episcopal Relief & Development

Episcopal Relief & Development works in collaboration with church partners and other local organizations to facilitate healthier, more fulfilling lives in communities that are struggling with hunger, poverty, disaster and disease. We also work around the world and here in the US responding to and rebuilding after disasters.

Morristown Soup Kitchen

nourish.NJ provides nutritious meals in a warm, safe and caring environment, free of charge, no questions asked, to anyone who comes seeking nourishment. As part of our hospitality, we also encourage and assist our guests in accessing community resources, services and educational programs.

Peapack Gladstone Fire Company

The Peapack and Gladstone Volunteer Fire Company has been serving the community since 1905. In addition to monthly business meetings, the company conducts monthly drills to maintain skills in fire fighting.

Community services provided include 24 hour fire protection and a variety of projects such as the annual Easter Egg Hunt, Memorial Day services, Boy Scout activities and Fire Prevention Week events in October.

Peapack Gladstone First Aid Squad

The Peapack -Gladstone First Aid & Rescue Squad (PGFARS) has been the primary provider of Ambulance Service and Emergency Medical Care to the Borough of Peapack and Gladstone in Somerset County since 1935. Our 25 volunteers attend approximately 300 calls for service every year, ranging from simple falls, to heart attacks, to serious traffic collisions and everything in between.

Seaman’s Institute

SCI’s name celebrates its history and unbroken service to mariners since 1834. Mariners are the backbone of global commerce, and the Seamen’s Church Institute proudly supports hardworking people who make our modern way of life possible.  SCI uses seafarer centers and trusted, one-on-one relationships with mariners to anticipate and meet their evolving needs.

The many facets of SCI’s institutional work include adult education tailored specifically for professional mariners and advocacy for mariners’ welfare, providing professional legal services free of charge.

“The opportunity to educate the broader community on the issue of domestic violence, incite positive action to bring an end to the cycle of violence and be part of a growth-oriented community is our motivation.”

God’s Co-Op Pantry

God’s Co-op Pantry opened in June 2011 as a mission to feed hungry neighbors in Bernardsville, Basking Ridge, and Peapack-Gladstone. Since then, the number of individuals and families served has grown from 50 to over 200.

St. Luke's Church

We are the people of St. Luke’s – an active caring parish who come from many places in central New Jersey to worship by honoring God’s Presence among us, to celebrate Christ’s love in joyful fellowship and Christian education for all ages, and to serve people near and far in loving action and generosity. Many of us, newcomers and long-time members alike, use the word “home” to describe our feelings about St. Luke’s Church. We are a family church with strong programs for children and youth, including Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Confirmation, a Middle School Youth Group and a Senior High Youth Group. Our Sunday morning worship is traditional and Sunday evening worship is most often contemporary.

We are blessed with talented musical leadership, an excellent organ, adult and children’s choirs, a hand bell choir and a praise team for the Sunday evening contemporary service. We worship in the Episcopal/Anglican way, based on the Book of Common Prayer, making full use of the rich heritage of Anglican music. However, we have many members who come from a range of denominational backgrounds and who feel very comfortable at St. Luke’s. We are serious about formation, growing in discipleship and living an authentic expression of the Christian faith. Through preaching on Sundays, several weekly Bible studies and a lively program of Christian education, we explore our faith – its roots and its scriptures, its certainties and its mysteries. St. Luke’s is a vibrant Christian community that welcomes all people to join us for worship, fellowship and involvement that extends beyond Sundays.

The Parish Life Guild

The Parish Life Guild (PLG) is an elected body consisting of 18 parishioners – 9 men and 9 women, each of them serving a three-year term – which oversees the organization of the parish’s numerous fellowship events and is also responsible for distributing the funds raised by these events to local, national and international charities, which it selects.  The Guild meets on the third Tuesday of each month to carry out its mission: “to actively involve the people of St. Luke’s as a community of faith, to develop and implement programs for ministry, and to support our parish as it reaches out to others in the Lord’s name”.

For more information about the work of the PLG, contact the church office at 908-234-0002.
