A Cherished Tradition Returns!
Join us for the 27th Annual "Farmington Table: A Moveable Feast" at Stanley-Whitman House. This cherished tradition is essential for preserving Farmington's rich history and supporting our museum's mission. We aim to raise $50,000 through ticket sales, a silent auction, sponsorships, and a special appeal during the evening.
Your participation helps sustain our operations and programs, ensuring every dollar raised directly benefits the museum, thanks to our volunteers' generous in-kind contributions and dedication. By attending, you're not just supporting an event; you're helping to preserve history, strengthen community bonds, and continue our educational initiatives for future generations. The generosity of our neighbors, community, and members makes this event a success. As a small but mighty museum, we rely on your support to continue making an impact.
Support Stanley-Whitman House
Established in 1935 as Farmington's first museum, Stanley-Whitman House is a treasured National Historic Landmark that offers an authentic glimpse into Connecticut's Colonial era. This circa 1720 home, furnished with period antiques, tells the stories of European settlers, Indigenous peoples, enslaved individuals, Puritan life, the Connecticut witchcraft trials, and the Revolutionary War. Enhancing this immersive historical experience are our beautiful historic gardens, an extensive archive and library, and surrounding apple orchards and heritage stone walls. Beyond the house, we also oversee and manage Memento Mori, Farmington’s ancient cemetery on Main Street, Scott Swamp Cemetery on Route 6, and the Village Green at the intersection of Routes 4 and 10, preserving the rich heritage of our community.
Our museum is recognized for award-winning programs, publications, and exhibits at state, regional, and national levels. Our mission goes beyond preservation; engaging programs, events, and exhibits invites visitors to connect with the diverse influences that have shaped our community and culture. Your support of the Progressive Dinner helps us continue this vital work.
