Speightstown - Riviera Romper, by Tapit
2016, CH, entered stud 2022
Stands at Calumet Farm
This 2025 No Guarantee Season with Breed Back to Grade 1 winning stallion, Lexitonian, will benefit Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance.
An impressive two-year-old debut winner at Belmont, the son of champion Speightstown went on to win the Grade 3 Chick Lang Stakes at three along with the Concern Stakes before hitting the board in the Grade 2 Phoenix Stakes at Keeneland. At four, he ran second by a nose to Collusion Illusion in the Grade 1 Bing Crosby Stakes. In his five-year-old campaign, he ran second by a head to Flagstaff in the hotly contested Grade 1 Churchill Downs Stakes on Kentucky Derby Day and scored a huge victory in the Grade 1 Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap at Saratoga, defeating 2020 Champion male sprinter Whitmore and Grade 1 winners Mischevious Alex and Firenze Fire.
A five-year-old son of prominent sire Speightstown, Lexitonian is the first foal out of the young Tapit mare Riviera Romper. She is a daughter of G1 Test winner Swap Fliparoo that Calumet acquired at the 2015 Keeneland November Sale for $310,000 while carrying him.
A "No Guarantee" season means a nomination to breed a Thoroughbred mare to a Thoroughbred stallion in a particular breeding season, the payment for which is due prior to such breeding. "No Guarantee" purchase of stallion seasons are NON-REFUNDABLE UNDER ANY CONDITION including the unavailability, infertility or death of the stallion, or the mare's death, inability to conceive or carry to term, once named and covered or for any other reason.
A "No Guarantee Season with a Breed Back" is defined as a “No Guarantee” season as defined above but if no foal results from the mating, a complimentary No Guarantee season will be provided for the following breeding season to the same stallion upon receipt of a satisfactory veterinary certification from the current breeding season subject to terms established by the stallion farm. Stallion must stand at the same farm for the following breeding season. There is no guarantee that the stallion will be available for the following breeding season.
Upon receipt of payment, the owner will notify the farm at which the stallion stands, of the name of the successful purchaser. The purchaser is then solely responsible for completing and forwarding a mare information form to the stud farm and making all booking arrangements.

"Lexitonian brought a lot of great opportunities to our barn which we are forever grateful for. This is an opportunity for our barn to again thank Lexitonian and to try and give back to the wonderful horses that give us these types of opportunities. If it wasn't for the horses, we wouldn't be here."
