Event stream begins at 7PM (MDT) on Thursday, August 19, 2021.
In the meantime, check out the stories of some incredible families who benefited from a few of the spay and neuter programs Salt Lake County Animal Services has to offer!
Salt Lake County Animal Services is the largest life-saving municipal shelter in Utah. We offer a variety of programming to the community to maintain a healthy pet population. Through outreach programs and in-house services, we serve over 14,000 pets a year.
Salt Lake County Animal Services relies upon the support of individuals, corporations, and foundations to help us educate and sustain a healthy pet community for the 600,000+ citizens we serve annually.
Raise your paddle and improve the life of an owned pet! We hope to exceed last year’s gala total of $53,000 to sustain our low-income spay/neuters for the 1200+ pets sterilized in our clinic each year. By spaying/neutering a pet, we prevent hundreds of homeless animals from entering the shelter.
Our Fund-A-Need is direct line to funding our TNR, ACO Cares, and Free Feline Fix Programs!
Free Feline Fix: In 2020 we helped spay/neuter over 500 cats at 20 different events. An average cat has 1-8 kittens per litter, and 2-3 litters per year.
ACO Cares: Our Animal Control Officers care about the community they serve, and this program helps them coordinate veterinary services with people they meet out in the field. In 2020 they helped over 220 pets get vaccinated and sterilized at our clinic.
Trap, Neuter, Return: Our TNR Staff helped over 560 community cats get spayed/neutered. They worked with dozens of community trappers and prevented hundreds of kittens from entering the shelter.
*(This does not include the sterilization costs for the thousands of pets we adopt out yearly.)
