Mission

Our mission is to supply our communities with the tools for success.

The TEXAS YES project is built on the idea that by providing our students with quality supplies and resources in the classroom we can help them achieve long term academic success. Since 1998, we've supplies students and teachers at Title 1 schools with school supply kits, STEM development grants and more.

Current Programs

BOX OF DREAMS PROJECT:

Each year, TEXAS YES selects numerous Title 1 elementary schools across Texas and supplies every student (Kindergarten - 5th grade) with a free school supply kit. Since 1998, SA YES, CC YES,  AUSTIN YES and DFW YES staff members, dedicated volunteers, board members and sponsors have personally distributed more than 500,000 school supply kits to students and community groups in Texas, making us the largest distributor of supplies for elementary students.

LITTLE LOCKER PROJECT:

Across the country, public school libraries, including elementary and middle school ones serving kids in the prime of jump-starting their literacy, have been hit hard by budget cuts. We strongly feel that providing reading material to students and community members that might have limited access to libraries will continue to fuel their literacy journey. We hope to inspire, motivate and encourage all those who visit our Little Lockers.

The Little Locker Project was developed with the simple concept of providing books and resources to students, parents and guardians in the areas we serve. Similar to the ‘Little Libraries’, students and community members can visit any of our Little Lockers and borrow a book to read. Each locker is filled with books and resources based on the partnership. For example, many of our schools and parent centers request bi-lingual books.

During the summer months, we supply our lockers with outdoor activities, crafts and art projects to help encourage creativity and reduce screen time.

Currently our Little Lockers are geared towards elementary and middle schools.

YES GRANT:

This program is to encourage, promote and help fund improved science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education in our schools. Since the program’s inception, TEXAS YES distributed more than $118,000 to support the development of STEM programs in San Antonio and surrounding areas. YES Grants are open to area public, private, or charter elementary, middle and high schools and 501(c)3 non-profits with a youth focus.

About Our Event

Educational support is a hand up, not a handout. We have been believers in this since the inception of SA YES and each year we ask the community to rally with us and help raise much needed funds for our programs. Proceeds help purchase schools supply kits for Title 1 elementary students, install Little Lockers in the communities we serve and provide funding for YES Grants. Your sponsorship means that we will be able to support more than 70,000 students across Texas.

Join us for an evening and learn more about our mission and how your sponsorship makes a direct impact in your community.
