Secure Your Seat Around the Table!
The RED SHOES GALA by FASD United is a celebration of the FASD community. In 2024, we are asking everyone to Give FASD a Seat at the Table. FASD is deeply impacts the fields of child welfare, chemical health, justice, policy, health systems, education, and so much more.
Held in Washington, D.C. during our national Impact Week, the Red Shoes Gala offers us the rare opportunity to spend time "Together Around the Table" with experts, policy advocates, organization supporters, and people with living experience.
These champions lead the way in advancing the mission of FASD United to empower people living with FASD and prenatal substance exposure to educate systems of care and the public, enact policies, and unite communities everywhere.

Black Tie Optional, Red Shoes Encouraged!
In 2013 a FASD self-advocate decided to wear red shoes to stand out, be noticed, and start conversations around FASD. Red shoes have been adopted as an international symbol of FASD advocacy and we invite you to join us in a celebration of the FASD community and to support the mission of FASD United.
FASD United is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that for over 30 years has been the National Voice on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders. It's mission is to empower people living with FASD and prenatal substance exposure to educate systems of care and the public, enact policies, and unite communities everywhere. Involved in the areas of research, support, prevention, policy and justice, FASD United is a connecting thread for the silos of care that interact with the FASD community.
We want to Give FASD a Seat at the Table.
Whether addressing disability rights, maternal child welfare, education, justice, or neurodiversity, FASD should be part of these conversations. Our goal is to actively participate in these critical areas, and more. This year, we've pledged to support you in claiming space for FASD in important conversations.
People with FASD have always had a seat and voice at different tables, but just as the disability itself can seem hidden, so too can the seats. Giving FASD a seat at the table is not just about demanding that FASD be included, but also about the steps we as a movement take to get FASD that seat at the table. This year's Red Shoes Gala, we celebrate the people who have taken their seat or given a seat to center FASD.
Tonight, we gather Together Around the Table to support the FASD community.
Sponsors of the RED SHOES GALA are thought leaders wo want to make a difference.
