About Dallas Afterschool

Dallas Afterschool levels the playing field for children of all races and economic backgrounds by increasing access to safe, high-quality afterschool and summer programs. We evaluate programs, certify them in safety and quality, advocate for free and low-cost childcare, provide training and resources to programs and professionals, create curriculum and activities for students, and place professionals in the Early Childhood and Out-of-School Time workforce. We support 270 sites, train 1,000 professionals, and positively impact over 19,000 children in Dallas.

Proceeds from RECESS

Recess! is the signature fundraising event for Dallas Afterschool. Proceeds from the event benefit our work to ensure all families have access to safe, enriching Out-of-School Time programs that keep children safe, fed, engaged in learning, and focused on their future. This is especially important since - in Dallas - there are over 100,000 children without a safe place to go after the school day.
