About Epic Experience

Founded in 2012, Epic Experience is a Colorado-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to empower adult cancer survivors to live beyond cancer through outdoor adventure. Epic Experience is committed to showing survivors that cancer no longer defines them, but is simply part of their life journey. Through its pinnacle weeklong camp program in the Rocky Mtns, regional meetups around the U.S., and Campfires of Hope podcast, Epic Experience provides support and community so that no one has to go through the cancer journey alone.

Weeklong Camps

Epic Experience hosts their weeklong adventure camps in the great state of Colorado about three hours west of Denver. The camps are open to the adult cancer community around the United States and Canada. Epic Experience camps are both in the winter and summer months. The winter camps take survivors cross country skiing, snow shoeing, and sledding. In the summer months, survivors are taken white water rafting, inflatable kayaking, horseback riding and hiking. Throughout the week, campers experience peer-to-peer support from a community that understands the cancer journey.

ThriveVR

Today, we live in a world where cancer is all too common. Every day, people discover that individuals in their lives—friends, family, acquaintances, maybe even themselves—have been diagnosed with this life-threatening and life-altering disease. As the cancer experience evolves with scientific advancements, so does survivorship and the ways in which patients receive care and support. This evolution has driven Epic Experience to leverage virtual reality technology to curate an environment where cancer patients can experience support through custom one-of-a-kind videos that empower them to thrive beyond cancer.

Regional Meetups

Epic Experience’s regional meetups bring together cancer survivors, thrivers, and caregivers for a day of outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and stand-up paddle boarding. These events are held in cities across the U.S. and provide a place to share, laugh, support, and be supported among others who have been touched by cancer.

Campfires of Hope: Stories of Cancer Podcast

The Campfires of Hope: Stories of Cancer podcast brings warmth, storytelling, and education to the cancer community. Campfire is a time for gathering together with family and friends, being in the present moment, and feeling love and connection as we share and receive knowledge from one another. During these campfire chats we discuss topics that empower those impacted by cancer, including mental health, living with stage 4 cancer, working with your medical team, personal wellness, fertility, and more.
