A specialty food gift box, curated exclusive for Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum by Brad Hedeman, Product Selector and Writer for Zingerman's Mail Order:
"The trick to every great food gift is to curate a collection that will appeal to the novice as well as the passionate foodie. This gift box is a perfect example of what I'm talking about. Let's start with the cured meats. Vecchio Salami from Red Table Meats is a classic. Made from heirloom breed pork raised on six family farms around Minneapolis, it's a clean, straight forward salami spiced simply with garlic and black pepper. The Tamworth Acorn Edition Prosciutto is some of the best you'll find in the world...Italy included. Tamworth pigs are moved to the woods of the Ozarks to spend their last four months gorging on the acorns and hazelnuts that fall to the ground. This is the same process as the famous Iberico de Bellota cured ham of Spain. The effect of a nut-heavy diet on ham’s fat is magical. It softens it, lowering its melting point to near body temperature so that when you bite into a piece it practically melts on your tongue. An exceptional eating experience. Both cheeses: Spain's famous Manchego and Italy's less well known PIave are as versatile as they are delicious. Serve sliced ahead of the meal, or use them in the meal. Piave is like a sweeter, milder parmigiano-reggiano and you can use it as such: grated over pasta or mixed into risotto. I like to enjoy Manchego as is. Sahli olives from Tunisia have a delicate skin holding a soft flesh. I love these crackers from Rustic Bakery. There's nothing plain about them, but they're spiced simply with sea salt and olive oil. They pair nicely with the salami and cheese. Finally, something sweet. Our famous Magic Brownie with walnuts and our indulgently sweet Buenos Aires Brownie...no nuts, just dulce de leche caramel and some praline crumble on top."
There's something for everyone in this collection, no matter your foodie experience level!
*Chef Chai meal delivery is available only to those located on Oahu. Those outside of Hawaii are provided a gift box specially curated by Zingerman's.
