This painting was part of a series done in 2015 in conjunction with plighted communities related to the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina's 10th year anniversary. Gentrified Gumbo signified housing-related discrimination and unfair housing practices that impacted African-American home owner's rights due to gentrification policies in their neighborhoods throughout the New Orleans area.
