About Community Brain Injury Services
Experiencing a brain injury is a life-altering event that impacts the individual, the caregiver, and the entire community supporting the individual. The individuals we support are navigating the resulting lifelong disability they have as a result of their brain injury. Community Brain Injury Services (CBIS) helps brain injury survivors build back independence by helping individuals set up needed supports to live independently safely, reengage with their community, return to competitive employment, and offer supports within a supportive network of peers.
CBIS is best known for our Clubhouse-model vocational rehabilitation programs, The Mill House in Richmond, and The Denbigh House, in Newport News, that offer an array of vocational supports and services and help individuals work on the socioemotional, cognitive, and behavioral changes following a brain injury. CBIS Case Management programs provides individuals the support to live in the community as independently as possible with needed supports to ensure health, safety, and accessibility for each individual. This is highly individualized and looks different for each person. Case Managers work with the survivor to and their treatment team to put into place the appropriate resources and supports.
We owe so much to our wonderful sponsors!
