Welcome to our Spring Scavenger Hunt for Hope and Online Silent Auction! We are thrilled to invite our friends and patrons to join us for a fun and engaging event that supports the Center of Hope's mission. This online silent auction features a variety of unique and exciting items that have been generously donated by local businesses and supporters, all to help raise funds for those who need it most. Whether you are looking for a special gift for yourself or a loved one, or simply want to support a good cause, we have something for everyone here. Participating in this online auction is a great way to have fun while giving back to the community. By placing bids on your favorite items, you are helping to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need as well as helping our community. The Hunt for Hope Silent Auction will officially open for bidding on Saturday April 13th at 1pm and will officially close on Saturday April 20th at 1pm. All items will be available for live viewing on April 20th from 10AM to 1PM at the First Man Brewery in Derby. Auction winners are invited to retrieve their items directly after the auction closes at 1pm on April 20th from the First Man Brewery. Any items not claimed by 3pm will be transferred to the Center of Hope main office and may be retrieved any time during regular business hours beginning Monday April 22nd. Our Vision

The Center of Hope provides emergency financial support to individuals and families in Wichita who are about to or already have been evicted and/or utility shut off notices. In many cases, clients have tried all other agencies and turn to us as their "last hope".

Our Mission

The Center of Hope listens to the cries of the poor with compassion and love without judgment, seeing all who present themselves as Children of God. We offer a loving presence to those in need and advocate for the troubled and powerless. We offer hope to all persons and families regardless of race, ethnicity, or religion.

Current Situation

Wichita on average has about 500 who are homeless at any given time.
There are many more who are actually homeless but are currently running from one friends or relatives couch to another.
Wichita currently has about 60,000/17% individuals who are living at or below the poverty level.
20% of children living in Wichita are at or below the poverty level.
Center of Hope receives 60-100 calls a week with individuals needing financial assistance with eviction notice and/or utility shut off notices.
This last fiscal year, Center of Hope has given over $1,426,000 and counting to over 7,740 individuals and 3,047 households with rent and utility assistance.

Donation Results

All who receive financial funding are immediately prevented from becoming homeless for the next 30 days.
Of those that receive financial assistance, 80% are able to stay in their homes with full utilities for at least 6 months or more.
Center of Hope's program is helping to promote systemic changes within our community.

While the Scavenger Hunt itself had to be limited to twenty teams from area businesses, we cordially invite everyone to come out and share in the hilarity of their escapades from 11am-1pm at the First Man Brewery. These tenacious teams will endeavor to complete outrageous challenges all around the Derby community for a chance to win big, and lucky for us it will all be captured on camera for our viewing pleasure. All silent auction items will be on display for live viewing and the Pub will be open exclusively for our Center of Hope patrons and friends! See you all on April 20th!
