About our Panelists

Kwadwo Adae is a New Haven based, Ghanian-American visual artist and muralist. Adae experiments through multiple genres of visual language; from figurative and floral works created from live observation, to purely non-objective works of art that push the boundaries of painting and sculpture in thickly textured artworks that echo the high vibrancy of cultural aesthetics from the Ashanti tribe of Ghana. kwadwoadae.com

Faustin Adeniran is a contemporary artist from Lagos, Nigeria working in New Haven. His work has been to re-imagine materials that would otherwise be considered trash or recyclable. Faustin's art series reflect elements of the communities he encounters. His vision is to encourage, educate, and inspire positive social impact through his artworks. faustinadeniran.com

Jasmine Nikole is an award-winning artist whose vivid, emotionally-charged paintings are more than just works of art — they are powerful stories of identity healing, and empowerment. Each piece serves as a reflection of the resilience, beauty, and complexity of the Black experience. Jasmine graduated from the Foote School and has taught art at Horizons for the past two summers. jnikoleartcollection.com

Moderator nico w. okoro is an independent arts consultant, curator, educator, and writer. An advocate for artists of the global majority, she works across sectors to build equitable representation within the canons of modern and contemporary art, and nurture reciprocity between artists, communities, and cultural institutions. nicowheadon.com

About Horizons at Foote

Our six-week summer program is complemented by year-round activities and Horizons Best Foote Forward (BFF), our high school program. Our project-based model combines hands-on academics with cultural enrichment and confidence-building pursuits like swimming, STEM, and art. Studies prove that arts education can boost students’ writing skills, build social and emotional skills, and increase school engagement.

"I think all children love art, but not all get the opportunity to do it." - Faith Ringgold

You can help change that. Art has been at the heart of Horizons at Foote since our first summer 10 years ago. Our art curriculum focuses on learning art technique and the history and impact of art.

Raise Every Voice celebrates our community and raises the money needed to run an outstanding program into our next decade. Thank you for helping us reach our goal of $75,000 by buying tickets, donating, and inviting your friends & family to hear from these talented local artists.
