Therapeutic interventions help unlock children’s potential, and your gift grants them access to a path towards greater independence. With rising neurodevelopmental disorder diagnoses each year, it’s crucial for children to receive care addressing their unique needs and supporting their growth.

The Financial Challenge: Families with children who have neurodevelopmental disorders face unique challenges, including financial burdens that others might not fully comprehend. Medical care becomes an uphill battle due to the additional steps required to provide necessary services. For some families, accessing medical care can be a near-impossible task.

$2,500 • Covers a Medical Visit

Your generous donation at this level can cover the cost of one crucial uninsured or underinsured dental or medical visit for a child. Even with family sacrifices, medical expenses can be overwhelming, and your support can ease the financial strain on these families.

$1,000 • CARE Caffeine Connection Expenses

This donation level supports vocational programs like Caffeine Connection. This program gives teens with neurodevelopmental disorders the opportunity to attain real-world job skills through classroom-style instruction and on-the-job training.

The Caffeine Connection program aims to increase participants’ employability so they can earn wages and benefits like their neurotypical peers doing the same work in fully integrated work environments.

$500 • Essentials, Communication Devices, or Durable Medical Equipment

Support at this level could benefit the Resource Assistance fund that purchases essential items like clothes and shoes for children who might not have them otherwise OR uninsured equipment such as a wheelchair, shower chair, or communication device to provide safety, increase meaningful communication, and improve success in school. Your donation of $500 can help Heartspring children sustain the highest quality of life possible while on the path to greater independence.

$250 • A Week of Therapy for a Low-Income Family

Help a child learn, grow, and thrive by building invaluable life skills through behavioral health, speech-language, physical, or occupational therapy sessions, even if their families can’t afford services. Dependent on the complexity of needs, some children may attend therapy up to four times per week. Children with more complex needs typically require intensive therapy for the first seven years of life, averaging a cost per child of $225,000.

$100 • Support Community Engagement

The Heartspring Community Engagement team creates opportunities for the students in our school to connect with the community and develops partnerships with other businesses and organizations to expand our therapeutic services and trainings.

Community engagement includes the CARE Club, adaptive physical education, music, art, and work-readiness programs. Your gift will contribute to transportation for field trips, adaptive bicycles and equipment, instruments, art, program supplies and so much more!

Heartspring’s Community Engagement program provides sensory-friendly outings, restaurant visits, and social skill-building groups to foster confidence and independence. Early intervention is key for children with neurodevelopmental disorders, but therapy costs—averaging $220 per hour—can overwhelm families. Your support provides a full week of therapy, ensuring a child receives expert care, guidance, and interventions that can transform their future. Neurodivergent individuals face unemployment rates up to eight times higher than the general population. Heartspring’s Vocational Training bridges this gap, offering computer training, mock interviews, volunteer opportunities, and real-world job experience through Caffeine Connection. Adaptive Physical Education (APE) improves coordination, strength, and social skills through structured, sensory-friendly activities.
