Fund a Cause

Fund a Cause is your chance to pledge a monetary gift to Heartspring. All the funds raised from Fund a Cause will support the CARE Program and Financial Assistance for students, clients, and families.  

About CARE Program: The Community Awareness, Resources, and Education (CARE) program serves as a vital space for kids to forge friendships, learn essential social skills, and most importantly, experience the joy of childhood. Your contribution can make a profound difference in the lives of these children and their families. 

The Financial Challenge: Families with children who have neurodevelopmental disorders face unique challenges, including financial burdens that others might not fully comprehend. Medical care becomes an uphill battle due to the additional steps required to provide necessary services. For some families, accessing medical care can be a near-impossible task. 

$2,500 • Covers a Medical Visit

Your generous donation at this level can cover the cost of one crucial uninsured or underinsured dental or medical visit for a child. Even with family sacrifices, medical expenses can be overwhelming, and your support can ease the financial strain on these families. 

$1,000 • CARE Caffeine Connection Expenses

This donation level can support programs like Caffeine Connection. A program designed for youth with neurodevelopmental disorders to attain real-world job skills through classroom-style instruction and on-the-job training.  

The goal of the Caffeine Connection program is to increase the participant’s employability resulting in employment opportunities with wages and benefits like people without neurodevelopmental disorders doing the same work in fully integrated work environments. 

$500 • Essentials, Communication Devices, or Durable Medical Equipment

Support at this level could benefit the Resource Assistance fund that purchases essential items like clothes and shoes for children who might not have them otherwise OR uninsured equipment such as a wheelchair, shower chair, or communication device to provide safety, increase meaningful communication, and improve success in school. Your donation of $500 can help Heartspring children sustain the highest quality of life possible while on the path to greater independence. 

$250 • A Week of Therapy for a Low Income Family

Help a child, regardless of their family's ability to pay, to learn, grow, and thrive by building invaluable life skills through behavioral health, speech-language, physical, or occupational therapy sessions. Dependent on the complexity of needs, some children may attend therapy up to four times per week. Children with more complex needs typically require intensive therapy for the first seven years of life, averaging a cost per child of $225,000. 

$100 • Support Community Engagement

The Community Engagement team creates opportunities to expand Heartspring’s therapeutic services through collaboration with the wider community. Community engagement includes the CARE Club, adaptive physical education, music, art, and work-readiness programs. Your support will contribute to transportation for field trips or much needed supplies such as adaptive bicycles, instruments, art, or program supplies and so much more! 

Q&A

How do I bid on silent and live auction items? 

• The silent auction opens at noon CST on Friday, February 16. Sign in above, put in your information, and you are set to bid on silent auction items! The live auction will be conducted in-person during our program, in which you will raise your bidder number to bid. 

What if I want a different bidder number than my spouse? 

• Our lead silent auction volunteer can help you obtain a new bidder number. If it is before Saturday, February 24, please email events@heartspring.org. 

How can I set an autobid? 

• Go to the item you are interested in and click “Bid/Info.” Then click “Bid/Set Max” and select the amount you are comfortable with. Click “Set Max” to have the system autobid for you up to your selected max amount. 

How do I keep watch on an item? 

• Find the item to add to your watch list and click the heart icon next to “Bid/Info.” Click “Menu” at the top of the screen and then “Watching” to see a list of items you are interested in.  

How do I participate in Fund a Cause? 

• We will be having a live Fund a Cause portion of the evening in which you can donate by raising your bidder number. Alternatively, you can click “Donate” at the top of this page. 

What if I want to participate but don’t want to use my credit card? 

• To participate in the silent auction, you will need to enter your credit card information. You are welcome to write a check made out to Heartspring at the end of the auction and your credit card will not be charged. 

Do I get a tax receipt if I purchase anything? 

• Yes. Following the event, you will receive a tax receipt via email with everything you purchased. 

How do I pay? 

• Click “Continue Bidding” above, where you can click “Pay!” at the top of the screen to pay using the credit card you entered or a different one.  

What is "Help Cover Our Credit Card Fees"? 

• After clicking “Pay” at the end of the evening, you may notice an additional fee added to your total. This is an optional 3.63% fee that you may opt-out of by selecting the box labeled “Opt out of: Help Cover Our Credit Card Fees!” As an organization, we pay fees on every credit card contribution, and we would greatly appreciate you helping us cover these so more money can go back to the families we serve! 

What if I don’t click pay at the end of the auction? 

• We highly encourage you to pay by clicking “Pay” in the top left corner above the listed auction items. If you do not pay this way, we will charge the credit card that you have entered on Monday following the close of the auction unless we hear from you that you would like to pay via another method.
