About the Tommy Fund
Since 1953, The Tommy Fund for Childhood Cancer has supported families whose children are undergoing cancer treatments at the Tommy Fund Pediatric Hematology & Oncology Center, Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital and Smilow Cancer Hospital.
Honoring Peter Parente
"Gold Ribbon Champion" Award
For over 30 years, Peter Parente has served as a founding officer of the Board of Directors of the Tommy Fund for Childhood Cancer and currently serves as Past President. Through Peter's leadership, the Tommy Fund has positively impacted the lives of thousands of area families undergoing pediatric cancer treatment, helped establish the Tommy Fund Pediatric Hematology & Oncology Center at Smilow Cancer Hospital and has assisted in the funding of hospital grants and fellowships.
Peter is a graduate of Hopkins School and Villanova University and resides in Woodbridge, CT alongside his wife Tommy Fund Pediatric Hematology & Oncology Center dedicated teammate Donna Parente, RN.
Peter retired as General Manager of Gabrielli Truck Sales in December of 2024.
