2022 Friends of the Shelter 5K for K9s

5K for K9s auction fundraiser benefiting the sick and injured dogs of the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center

We're thrilled that we’re able to host this fun online auction and the live in-person run/walk to help save the sick and injured shelter dogs. 

5K for K9s in-person or virtual run or walk

This year, you have two ways to help save the shelter dogs: 

• Run or walk in person with 2- or 4-legged friends on Saturday, Sept. 24 at Alum Creek State Park Beach area.
• Or, you can participate virtually Thursday through Sunday, Sept. 22-25.

• Our fun 2022 t-shirt design celebrates that we’ll be back at the Alum Creek State Park beach area for the first time in three years!
• New this year! In addition to our fun, soft t-shirts that are always a hit, each participant will also receive a medal! We’re so excited to be able to offer medals to all of the walkers/runners this year to commemorate how you helped save the sick & injured shelter dogs.
• And, most importantly, saving a shelter dog’s life! Each year, Friends of the Shelter needs $200,000 for the medical care for the shelter dogs. 5K for K9s is one of our largest fundraisers, and the shelter pups count on your support every year.

Check out our great auctions!

You’ll see photos and descriptions below of the great auction and raffle items. As we did previously for our other events like Purses and Pearls, we’re using mobile bidding with ClickBid.   Register to bid now, so you'll be ready to bid when the auction starts. Please note that if you set up an account for a previous event, your account should still be active (including the bidder number), but you may need to re-enter your credit card information.

The opening bid is listed on the item. You can place a bid or you can set a maximum bid so that the auction software will bid for you throughout the week up to your maximum bid. You’ll receive notifications when you’ve been outbid, and you can increase your bid if you wish.

Thank you all for your donations!  Your support for the shelter dogs has been amazing!  Since all of the items were donated, we can’t confirm the authenticity of the items.

After the auction ends

When the auction ends, you can either check out yourself or we will run the credit card you used for registration for any unpaid items later that day or the next day.  If you check out yourself, you can choose to use the credit card you used for registration.

We will be in touch with you after the event to arrange for contactless pick-up or drop-off. Shipping is available! We can ship most of the items, if desired, at your cost.

Friends of the Shelter is an all-volunteer, 501c3 non-profit that funds the medical care for sick and injured dogs at the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center.  Each year, our volunteers organize events to raise money for this care, which exceeded $200,000 last year.
