Friends of the Shelter is an all-volunteer, 501c3 non-profit that funds the medical care for sick and injured dogs at the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center. Each year, our volunteers organize events to raise the money for this care, which exceeded $200,000 last year. While the pandemic has made it much more difficult for all charities—including Friends of the Shelter—to fundraise, it hasn’t stopped the need.
To learn more about Friends of the Shelter, please go to:
You’ll see photos and descriptions below of the great auction and raffle items. We have opened the auction and raffles early, so, once you register to bid and sign in, you can browse the auctions and raffles, start bidding, and buy raffle tickets for specific items!
Please note that if you set up an account for PupArt, your account should still be active (including the bidder number), but you may need to re-enter your credit card information.
Silent Auctions: Check out the silent auction items and place a bid! The opening bid is listed and you can place a bid, including a maximum bid, so that the auction software will bid for you throughout the week up to your maximum bid. You’ll receive notifications when you’ve been outbid, and you can increase your bid if you wish. The silent auction items are the items with numbers in the 100s.
Raffles: Review the list of raffle items and purchase raffle tickets for the items you’re interested in! The raffle tickets are $1 each, so you can purchase multiples at $1 each specifically for the items you’re interested in. The raffle items are items with numbers in the 200s.
The auctions and raffles end at noon, Sunday, 10/18, so you'll have plenty of time to find your new treasures and bid on them. Remember, all of the proceeds go to fund the medical care for sick and injured dogs at the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center.
As we did earlier this year for PupArt, we’re using mobile bidding with ClickBid. When the auctions and raffles end, you can either check out yourself on Sunday, 10/18 at noon, or we will run the credit card you used for registration for any unpaid items later that day. If you check out yourself, you can choose to use the credit card you used for registration or another online payment option—Apple Pay, Venmo (mobile only), or PayPal.
We will be in touch with you after the event to arrange for contact-less pick up or drop off. If you’re out of the central Ohio area, we can ship most of the items, if desired, at your cost. Exclusions from shipping include any items over 24” and the fragile growlers. Thank you again for supporting Friends of the Shelter and helping fund the medical care of the shelter dogs.
Thanks to our amazing sponsors, every dollar you spend at 5K for K9s will go straight to helping save more sick and injured shelter dogs.
