Welcome to the 2025 Java for the Shelter Pups auction site

Friends of the Shelter's popup winter fundraiser

About Java for the Shelter Pups and Friends of the Shelter

Welcome to the silent auction site for Friends of the Shelter's Java for the Shelter Pups winter pop-up auction fundraiser benefiting the sick and injured dogs of the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center.

A local Starbucks café generously donated several five-pound bags of coffee, cold-cup tumblers, vacuum-insulated water bottles and travel mugs. The pop-up auction opens on Wednesday, 1/29, at 7 a.m. and will close on Friday, 1/31, at 9 p.m.

The auction has 5 gift sets that include great Starbucks tumblers and 5-pound bags of whole bean coffee (either Milano Luna or Casi Cielo flavor). And, the auction will include six “buy-it-now” 5-pound bags of Milano Luna coffee, which is a medium-to-dark roast coffee from Starbucks that has notes of dark chocolate truffle and roasted black walnut. This coffee was available only for a limited time in the U.S., so we’re grateful that our local Starbucks friends have donated some to help us raise some money for the sick & injured shelter dogs!

Check out our great auction items!

You’ll see photos and descriptions below of the auction and buy-it-now items. As we did previously for our other events like PupArt, we’re using mobile bidding with ClickBid.   Register to bid now, so you'll be ready to bid when the auction starts. Please note that if you set up an account for a previous event, your account should still be active (including the bidder number), but you may need to re-enter your credit card information.

For the five auction items, the opening bid is listed on the item. You can place a bid or you can set a maximum bid so that the auction software will bid for you throughout the week up to your maximum bid. You’ll receive notifications when you’ve been outbid, and you can increase your bid if you wish.

For the "buy-it-now" 5-pound bags of coffee, you can instantly buy for the price listed.

After the auction

When the auction ends, you can either check out yourself or we will run the credit card you used for registration for any unpaid items later that day or the next day. If you check out yourself, you can choose to use the credit card you used for registration.

We will be in touch with you after the event to arrange for pick-up or drop-off. We can ship most of the items, if desired, at your cost.

About Friends of the Shelter

Friends of the Shelter is an all-volunteer, 501c3 non-profit that funds the medical care for sick and injured dogs at the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center.  Each year, our volunteers organize events to raise money for this care, which exceeded $200,000 last year.  Your donations and attendance at our events help fund the care for shelter dogs.

Friends of the Shelter helps dogs like Max!

Max is a two-year-old Siberian Husky. This cutie arrived at Franklin County Dog Shelter with a fractured radius and ulna. Friends of the Shelter funded Max’s visit to COVE to get a cast put on his leg. The veterinarians are hopeful that Max’s leg will heal properly with a cast and cage rest. If it turns out that Max’s leg doesn’t heal properly, Friends of the Shelter is prepared to fund his orthopedic surgery, too. We’re grateful that Max is in a foster home, and his foster family will help give him TLC during his cage rest and recovery. Please send Max good vibes for a full recovery so he doesn’t need surgery!
