Celebrating Access. Creating Opportunity.
Our 6th annual First Chair Gala is officially sold out — thank you for the incredible outpouring of support!
But the celebration doesn’t stop here. There are still powerful ways you can take part in this evening of impact:
Creating Access to the First Chair
We are looking forward to your support at the 6th annual First Chair Gala on Thursday, October 2, 2025! Your involvement sustains the work we do at Oregon Adaptive Sports (OAS). By supporting our First Chair Gala, you have helped increase access to these experiences for people with disabilities—the opportunity to experience the spirit of "First Chair."
Celebration of Movement in the Outdoors
The first lift each day that transports skiers up the mountain to a blank canvas of snow, awaiting their tracks. Sought after by the most dedicated, powder-seeking, and ambitious skiers and riders, it is this energy and spirit that OAS strives to embody: a persistent pursuit of the transformative power of moving through the mountains. By joining Oregon Adaptive Sports for the First Chair Gala, you are increasing access for all to seek these experiences - access to First Chair.

Meet Our OAS Athlete of the Night: Dennis Connors
We're honored to announce Dennis Connors as this year’s Athlete of the Night at the First Chair Gala!
A veteran, Paralympian, and powerful storyteller, Dennis recently took the TEDxPortland stage to explore what perseverance really means—not just pushing harder, but embracing vulnerability, leaning on community, and learning to love yourself.
From the podium in Paris to the slopes with OAS, Dennis’s story is a moving reminder of how sport can be a catalyst for joy, resilience, purpose and belonging.
His talk includes personal reflections on mental health and suicidal ideation, shared with care and courage. We’re grateful to Dennis for the honesty he brings to every part of his journey—and we’re proud to share a sneak peek of his message this October.
