About Fantastic Negrito

That's right - it's FANTASTIC NEGRITO! Winner of 3 grammys and the first-ever NPR Tiny Desk contest, he's a Bay Area legend and institution. He's toured with everyone from Sturgill Simpson to Chris Cornell, collaborated in the studio with the likes of Sting and E-40, launched his own Storefront Records label, performed at Lollapalooza, Glastonbury, Newport Folk, Bryon Bay Blues, and nearly every other major festival on the map, and founded the Revolution Plantation, an urban farm aimed at youth education and empowerment.

And on June 22nd, he's jammin' with the Bear!

Blue Bear's Nonprofit MIssion

The mission of Blue Bear School of Music is to empower people to play the music they love. At Blue Bear, we believe that everyone, regardless of the school they attend, the neighborhood that they live in or their financial capacity should have equitable access to playing music.

With the help of supporters like YOU, we are able to bring free music classes to our wonderful partners.  Through longtime partnerships with the San Francisco Unified School District, Glide Memorial Family Center, the Bayview YMCA, St. Joseph Family Center, Hunter’s View, the Tenderloin Rec Center, and many others we get to see how MAKING MUSIC CHANGES LIVES every day!

We’ve seen firsthand how music brings joy, forms connections, and creates communities. We are always working to expand our reach and to bring the transformative power of music to as many people as possible – especially in underserved schools and neighborhoods in the San Francisco Bay Area.  Support our outreach programs today!
