About Detroit Horse Power

Detroit Horse Power is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that partners Detroit’s youth with horses to foster critical social-emotional learning. The organization has grown significantly since our founding in 2015 to have now served well over 500 youth in summer camps and after-school programs. Youth in our programs learn to ride and care for horses as a way to develop important skills that will lead to greater success in school and in life. We call these the PERCS traits - Perseverance, Empathy, Responsible risk-taking, Confidence, and Self-control. This is an exciting year as Detroit Horse Power prepares to transform a 14-acre demolished Detroit school site into the largest urban equestrian center in the country!

About the Event

The annual gala event highlights our students and everyone who helps Detroit Horse Power gallop towards its goals and further our reach. It is also a night of high spirits and hope as we pledge ourselves further to DHP's mission through our auction. Thank you all and we hope to see you there!
