Join AuSM for an evening of cocktails (and mocktails) that support the Minnesota autism community! This will be an engaging party that doesn’t take itself too seriously and does tremendous good. Rather than a proper sit-down dinner, imagine this: carousers toasting craft cocktails and passing appetizers while fundraising for a truly AuSM cause and community. We’ll have silent and live auctions, games, and entertainment. We’ll also showcase our work, and share stories of impact.

Cocktails for a Cause seeks to cast a wide net in building support for our diverse, vibrant autism community. With a prevalence rate of one in 34 Minnesotans as autistics, the autism community really is all of us – it’s your neighbors, your co-workers, your friends, and their families. Cocktails for a Cause will rally and build community around seeing the strengths and gifts – along with the challenges and struggles – of autistic people we all know and love.

We'll be hosted for the evening at Brother Justus Whiskey, a Minnesota distillery inspired by Brother Justus, a Benedictine Monk who crafted whiskey a century ago. We chose this venue quite intentionally: the people at Brother Justus believe that the most important virtue of Benedictine values is hospitality, and they live out that virtue. They say "When we set out to bring a new distilling and tasting room experience to the Twin Cities, we knew it had to be inclusive in more ways than one. No one should feel unwelcome or excluded during a night out with friends or family."

About Breaking Bread

Our appetizers for the evening will be provided by Breaking Bread, a local cafe that helps support Appetite for Change. By partnering with Breaking Bread, AuSM is keeping our work local and supporting their mission to build health, wealth, and social change in North Minneapolis and beyond. We're thrilled to work with amazing local organizations while also getting to snack on some amazing food.
