NDSC's event celebrating post-secondary education programs.

Event Details

The second annual Big Game Ball benefiting the National Down Syndrome Congress will be on Saturday, August 26th, 2023, at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, GA.The Big Game Ball honors postsecondary programs serving those with intellectual disabilities as well as individuals and organizations advancing opportunities for those with Down syndrome to attend postsecondary programs. The 2023 postsecondary programs being honored are Auburn University’s Education to Accomplish Growth in Life Experiences for Success (EAGLES) Program, Georgia State University’s Inclusive Digital Expression and Literacy (IDEAL) Program, and Georgia Institute of Technology’s EXCEL program. The nonprofit honoree is Ruby’s Rainbows, the corporate honoree is Google's Project Understood, and the NDSC Partner of Influence is Bob Hope. 

         


All of the honorees exemplify the priorities of the NDSC to:

  • increase access to inclusive postsecondary opportunities for students with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities
  • develop high-quality inclusive postsecondary programs
  • provide Model Program Accreditation Standards for postsecondary education programs
  • advocate for educators who will continue to forge the path of inclusive education at all levels.

All of which lead to meaningful employment, independent living, and improved quality of life for people with Down syndrome.
