Easterseals Michigan is excited to introduce Beautiful Me, a fashion show featuring children and young adults from our Miracle League programs who will be modeling adaptive clothing designs. The event will raise funds for our Miracle League programs and also raise awareness on the importance of having adaptive clothing designs available for those with various disabilities.

About Miracle League of Michigan & Miracle League of North Oakland
Every year, nearly 400 children and young adults participate in Easterseals’ Miracle League athletic programs. Athletes that are mentally and/or physically disabled enjoy the opportunity to play baseball, bowl and dance in organized leagues regardless of their medical limitations. Easterseals’ Miracle League of Michigan offers summer baseball players a barrier-free, adaptive field where every child hits the ball, runs the bases and scores with help from an able-bodied buddy; and during the winter months the friendships and bonds formed can continue through specialized bowling leagues and dance groups.
Not only does this allow mentally and physically disabled children and young adults the opportunity to enjoy sports like their siblings and friends, but the long-lasting effects are much more powerful. The program builds self-esteem, aids in new cognitive and physical skill building, and allows the children to reach for their goals in a safe, encouraging environment supported by a community of caring family, friends and neighbors.
The Miracle League of Michigan has offered programming to Southfield area residents for the past 16 years. We are very excited to expand our programming to Orion Township area communities in 2019 with the grand opening of a new Miracle League field.
