AUCTION: BIDDING & FAQs

Whether you plan to bid online or in-person at the Live Auction on September 28th, you will need to register to participate.

Step 1: Select the REGISTER menu item on this website and login with your phone number or email address. Click GO, and you will receive an email or text message with a one-time login code. Enter the code and click NEXT.

Confirm your name and click CONTINUE. Once completely logged in, you can view items in the Silent and Live Auctions via our Clickbid auction portal. You can search by item number and category.

How to place a bid:

To place a bid, click on BID/INFO. You can view item details, place a fast bid, or place a maximum bid. Click on MENU > MY ITEMS to view your activity throughout the event.

Tips for a smooth bidding experience:

  • For the Silent Auction, we recommend using Clickbid's "set maximum bid" feature.
  • The system bids for you up to (but not exceeding) the maximum amount you indicate.
  • Set up email and text alerts so you'll know if you have been outbid.

How can I attend the Live Auction?

This year’s Live Auction is on September 28. You can join us in person by purchasing a ticket. Your generous support is greatly appreciated.

I can’t attend the Silent Auction in person. Can I still bid on Silent Auction items?

YES! Click on REGISTER. After registering, you’ll be able to bid on Silent Auction items at anytime.

I can't attend the Live Auction. Can I still bid on Live Auction items?

YES! If you cannot attend the Live Auction on September 28th, a MarinMOCA representative will execute the bid(s) on your behalf up to (but not beyond) your defined amount. Please email Jodi Roberts, Executive Director at info@marinmoca.org to set up proxy bidding by 12:00 PM on September 27.

Is there early bidding for the Live Auction?

No.

How do I remove a bid?

Right after you place a bid, you can "undo" it on the confirmation banner at the top of the screen. Once this banner disappears, you must contact MarinMOCA at info@marinmoca.org or see an event volunteer to remove it.

How do I place a Max Bid?

To place a "max bid,” click on BID/INFO > BID/SET MAX > select the maximum amount you are willing to spend on the item > SET MAX. The system will bid up to that amount for you automatically. You will be notified via text message if you are outbid on this item.

I already selected "no" or replied STOP to the SMS text message alerts, not realizing I wouldn't receive outbid notices. Can I fix it?

Yes. Text "START" to 56651 to begin receiving these once again.

 What if I am outbid?

Clickbid keeps track of your bids for you and once you have been outbid, it will immediately send you a text message letting you know. You can easily jump back into your account, adjust your maximum bid, and make sure you don’t miss out.

How do I watch my event activity?

To view your previously bid on items, go to MENU > MY ITEMS. View your complete event history, winning and losing items. Clickbid keeps this page focused on the items you are interested in so you don’t get distracted and lose an item.

How do I update my information?

Use the Blue Gear icon in the top left corner of the bidding site to update your information anytime.

When does bidding in the Silent Auction end?

All bidding for the Silent Auction will be conducted online and close on September 30 at 6:15 PM. You will receive text updates when your bid is exceeded, allowing you to enter a new bid.

Is there a Buy Now price on Auction items?

Yes.

 Did I win?

Once the auction has closed, go to MENU/MY ITEMS to view everything that you have won/purchased.

I did not receive my login code. What do I do?

Note that we cannot control carrier settings for receiving the code by text. If you do not receive a code via text, try via email or check with your cell phone provider. Please check your spam folder for the login code email if you do not see it in your inbox. You can also contact us at info@marinmoca.org and let us know.

When can I see the artwork in person?

You can view the artworks at MarinMOCA during the museum’s regular hours. If these times don’t work for you, please email MarinMOCA staff info@marinmoca.org to set up a special appointment.

Do artists make money from the sale of the artwork?

Yes! As part of our commitment to supporting artists, MarinMOCA offers all participating artists up to a 50% commission on the sale of their work, with the remaining proceeds going directly to support education and exhibitions at MarinMOCA.

How do I pay for my auction item?

ClickBid requires a credit card or another form of payment at registration. Items will be charged in full via the ClickBid portal to the highest bidder. Sales tax will be charged to all purchases of goods. All acquisitions must be purchased in full.

 What are the auction rules?

Each auction item is sold AS IS without warranty. MarinMOCA reserves the right to withdraw any item at any time before the actual sale. All Sales are final with not refunds or exchanges. You will be issued a receipt through the ClickBid portal after your purchase is complete; be sure to save this so you can take home your art.

How do I pick up my artwork?

Auction winners may take their artwork home after the exhibition closes on October 8 and purchase confirmation. Auction winners will be notified to make an appointment. If you are not local, we can ship artwork to you. Shipping and packing materials will be billed to you at cost.

I won an experience package, now what?

Please contact MarinMOCA at info@marinmoca.org for information on scheduling your experience package.
