On Saturday, May 2nd, the River community will gather at Carderock Pavilion for RiverWalk and our annual Spring Picnic. Families, alumni and friends come together to enjoy time outdoors and make a difference for River students. This event is free to attend!
RiverWalk is a family-friendly walk along the C & O Canal in memory of teacher Jill Bailey Chenet and includes opportunities to support her legacy through sponsorships, donations and RiverWalk t-shirts which feature RiverWalk-themed original artwork by a student. Proceeds from the event support tutoring for River students and continue Jill’s legacy of care and dedication to every child.
The Spring Picnic is a relaxed gathering after RiverWalk with a casual lunch from Jettie's, lawn games, face painting, balloon artistry and plenty of green space to enjoy with family and friends.
Event Timeline:
10:30 am - Alumni Student and Family Breakfast
11:00 am - RiverWalk begins
11:30 am - Face painting, balloon artistry and fun on the lawn
12:00 pm - Spring Picnic lunch provided by Jettie's
