COVID PROTOCOLS NOTICE
London Health Sciences requires all in-person event participants to not attend the event if:
- They are experiencing any COVID-19 related symptoms, such as fever, cough, sore
throat, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, or are feeling ill in any
other way
- Have recently travelled outside of Canada (last 14 days) and are
currently required to quarantine
- Have had contact
with a probable, or confirmed, case of COVID-19; or
- Are awaiting testing or test results for COVID-19.
AUCTION RULES & TERMS
- Every effort has been made to ensure accuracy prior to the event however information and rules are subject to change.
- All items purchased are for use as described including all limitations with respect to dates and number of people. No amendments will be permitted unless noted. The purchaser will be responsible for any and all damages to any property caused by the purchaser and/or their guests during their time of stay. Incidental charges may be incurred as a result of the purchaser’s use of property and are the sole responsibility of the purchaser.
SILENT AUCTION & BIDDING
- Auction participants must register to bid on the auction website (ClickBid LLC) with a valid email address, cell phone number, mailing address and credit card information.
- All bidding for the Silent Auction items will be completed online through your smartphone, tablet or web browser with the exception of Not-So-Silent auction category items. Not-So-Silent auction items will convert to "on the floor" bidding at the event on November 5 at RBC Place London.
- A minimum bid increment will be set for each auction item. You must enter a bid using at least the minimum increment, although you may choose to bid higher or set a maximum bid. Further information and instruction will be communicated at the event.
- The Silent Auction will open for event guests on November 1, 2022 and close on November 5, 2022 at 7:55 PM (EST). The Silent Auction will open to the general public on November 2, 2022. Notifications will be sent to those who have confirmed their contact information.
- Large screens at the event may scroll with the highest bid for each silent auction item, including the most current winning bidder numbers. An item’s Bid History including bidder numbers will be displayed and viewable by all bidders. You may track your bids when you are logged in, and should you be a successful bidder, you will be notified by text and on the homepage of your bidding account.
- Mistakes sometimes occur; there are a couple times when you are permitted to retract or cancel a bid if the auction item(s) are currently open, including:
- You accidentally enter the wrong amount, like entering $1,500 instead of $150. Please contact London Health Sciences Foundation at 519-685-8409 or cca@lhsc.on.ca
- The item description changed significantly after you placed your bid. For example, the organization updated information about the item's features or restrictions.
- Alcohol may not have been tested by the Liquor
Control Board of Ontario (LCBO). Special Occasion Permit - Auction Permit No. AA1283024.
- Bidders on the silent auction may be remote or attending the event.
- Your bid number will be provided to you through the online bidding platform, ClickBid.
- Dates are to be mutually agreed upon between the purchaser and the donor, where applicable and unless otherwise stated.
- All auction items and services must be used within one year of the date of the auction, unless otherwise specified by the donor.
LIVE AUCTION & BIDDING
- Upon arrival at the event, you will receive your live auction bid cards. You are responsible for your bid number and may use only the number assigned to you for bidding.
- The highest Live Auction bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the purchaser. In the event of any dispute between two or more bidders, the auctioneer shall have the sole and final discretion either to determine the successful bidder or to re-offer the item in dispute. The auctioneer’s decision is final.
PAYMENT, COLLECTION & SHIPPING
- HST will not be charged on your purchase – please keep this in mind when making your bid.
- Payment must be made in cash, by cheque or by credit card. Payment in full during the evening of the auction is mandatory. Any winning bidders who provide their credit card information through the bidding platform, ClickBid, and are the successful/winning bidder of an item or items will be charged for item(s) won; a notification will be sent to the contact information provided that your card will be processed.
- All sales are final. No exchanges or refunds will be honoured by the Auction Committee, London Health Sciences Foundation or donors unless specifically indicated.
- Travel packages do not include air, land or water transportation unless directly stated in the auction listing.
- Whether bidding online remotely or at the event, the winning bidder is responsible for making arrangements to collect their item. Long-term storage will not be provided by London Health Sciences Foundation.
- All auction items are to be collected within 90 days of auction closing time. London Health Sciences Foundation will contact winning bidder three times, the third being a final reminder before the items are considered forfeited by the winning bidder.
- Unless otherwise stated, the cost of shipping is the responsibility of the winning bidder and is an additional cost to the winning bid for an item.
DISCLAIMER
While the Auction Committee and London Health Sciences Foundation (LHSF) have endeavoured to accurately catalogue and describe each item to be sold, guarantee is not made about the accuracy of the catalogue, online descriptions or other descriptions pertaining to the physical condition, size, value, authenticity, attribution, provenance, exhibitors, literature or historical relevance of any lot; and no statement anywhere shall be deemed a warranty, representation or condition; and no sale will be set aside on account of any imperfections not noted. All purchasers of alcohol by way of auction must sign and acknowledge that the alcohol purchased may not have been tested by the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO). Each item is sold “as-is”, “where-is” and without recourse. By his/her purchase, the purchaser waives any and all claims, demands, damages, actions, or causes of action against either the Auction Committee, LHSF, or the donor of the item or service, arising or to arise by reason of use of the product, property or service sold. The purchaser further waives any and all claims and demands whatever in law or in equity which the purchaser, his/her heirs, executors, administrators, or assigns can, shall or may have against the item or service by reason of the use of any product, property or service sold.
*If at any time there are issues with regards to accessing the bidding platform provided through ClickBid, LHSF has the right to extend the auction at its discretion.

INCOME TAX RECEIPT
We are able to issue income tax receipts for successful bids where the successful bid is at least 25% above the fair market value of the auction item. Example: Fair market value is $500; minimum successful bid for an income tax receipt is $625. Your receipt will be $125. Canada Revenue Agency regulations apply.
