An intergeneric hybrid between Sycopsis sinensis and Parrotia persica that should be grown for its blazing foliage. Before it leafs out in the spring, ×Sycoparrotia produces delicate red flowers on bare stems. In spring, the reddish-purple leaves begin their season-long show turning every color you can imagine from scarlet-red, bright-orange, golden-yellow to purple in the autumn. This purple haze will get "all in your brain." Sun to part shade, zone 6b.
